Who is State Azure?

State Azure is a UK-based electronica artist who’s been putting out some killer ambiance lately. If you’ve noticed his name listed as a contributor to Lightning Bug, its because he’s also been sending us some great audio samples and loops to use in Lightning Bug since the 2.0 release. And we’re totally stoked to tell you that State Azure has now published both an album and an EP online!

I’m Using 2.9 But Still Hear Skipping

I Just Want My App To Work!

So you’ve installed our latest update, 2.9, and *still* hear audio skipping when you use Lightning Bug. Please check *each* of the following in the order they appear:
- Are you using the latest version of Lightning Bug?
Launch Lightning Bug and pay attention to the app’s splash screen. The current version number is displayed to the bottom right of the app’s title. It should read “v2.9″. If not, go to the Android Market and install 2.9.

Lightning Bug 2.9 – No More Skipping in Ice Cream Sandwich

More great news on our ongoing problems with looped audio on Android. Our 2.9 release includes a new audio framework just for Ice Cream Sandwich users! You won’t have to do anything, we’ve made it the default just for ICS.

setLooping() Bug Status Update!

Thanks so much to all of you that participated in our Bug Report\Twitter campaign, YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE!

Lightning Bug 2.8.1 – Call to Action

Version 2.8.1 has been released to the Android Market. This is primarily a bug-fix release, but before we get to that, a few words about our on-going issue with audio playback in the Android OS.

Lightning Bug 2.8 – No More Skipping!

GREAT NEWS! The audio skipping issue has been fixed!

In our 2.8 release we introduce a feature called ‘Lightning Bug Audio’. Lighting Bug Audio is a custom audio system we built just for Lightning Bug that effectively fixes the gap\skipping issue many of you noticed as of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Want to use Lightning Bug on your PC or MAC?

One of our most frequent requests is to port Lightning Bug to the desktop. While we haven’t yet planned a native PC\Mac port, we do have some great news! A great new application called BlueStacks just went into a public alpha today that will let Windows users run Android and their Android apps on any device running Windows!

A Note On The Recent Lightning Bug Plugin Outage

Hi everyone, we wanted to give you an update on the recent outage Lightning Bug experienced.

Around the 9th of June some users began to notice that Lightning Bug was no longer able to download plugin content. Many of you emailed us about the issue and we quickly verified that, in fact, the server we used to host Lightning Bug’s plugin content was no longer online.

Cubicle Pi: Celtic Elements

We’ve gotten a lot of requests for something “celtic” … and since it’s St. Patty’s Day we thought some of you might like an update on that!

Celtic Elements
A little darker than our usual scenes, this takes place near an Irish river bank during a Druid ritual. Chanting swells in and out while bagpipes and flutes play in the distance, wind chimes and thunder signal the coming rain.

If you follow Lightning Bug, you know we constantly ask for feedback and ideas on what you want us to improve. And in case you don’t know yet, we’ve set up a feedback voting site here at uservoice.com. So check it out! You guys have already given us so many great ideas for new features and content and we can’t thank you enough. In fact, we’re hard at work on Lightning Bug 2.7 which will contain a lot of the long-overdue features you’ve been asking for!
